Why Lower Eye Lift Surgery?
Lower eyebags and wrinkles makes one look much older than they feel inside. Lower eyelift surgery is a powerful anti-aging surgery.
Before & After Lower Eyelift Surgery (Lower blepharoplasty)
What are the aging features of the lower eye ?
Eyelid sagging tends to be one of the first visible features of the aging process. As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess skin, wrinkles and fat gather above and below your eyelids. In the lower eyelid, this causes:
- Excess skin droops and produce wrinkles and folds
- Lower eye bags
- Wrinkles in the lower eyelid skin

What is an lower "eye lift" ?
Lower eye lift (Transcutaneous Lower Blepharoplasty) can be both a functional and cosmetic surgical procedure intended to reshape the lower eyelid by the removal, repositioning or reinforcing the excessive and loose lower eyelid soft tissue structures. It typically involves skin incision below the lower lid eyelashes, removing excess skin, tightening the loose muscles and removing the bulging fat.

What is special about our technique?
1. Manipulation of fat. Instead of cutting and removing the fat, we moblise the fat to fill the dark circle (tear trough deformity). This technique is called Fat transposition procedure.
2. Fat contouring. We use the laser to contour the fat. It tend to produce better and more precise contouring of the lower eyelid bulge and reduce the chance of removing too much fat.
3. we use the laser to tighten the lower eyelid skin during the surgery. This tend to produce a more tightening of fine wrinkles.
4. we routinely elevate and "bolt" the lower eyelid muscle to the bone to produce that additional lifting.
What does a standard lower eye lift procedure involve?
Generally speaking a standard lower eye lift surgery involves these following steps in sequence:
- Designing - This is where the surgical plan is drawn on the lower eyelid skin before the surgery in accordance to the desired surgical outcome.
- Sedation - We regularly use twilight sedations to help you relieve anxiety and feel more comfortable during the procedure.
- Local anaesthetic injection - Numbing medication is injected into the surgical area so that you dont feel any pain.
- Skin incision is made very close to the lower eyelashes so that when healed it can be well concealed.
- Fat is tranposed to fill the dark circles and the remaining fat is then lasered to stop bulging.
- Muscle is elevated and tightened to a youthful position.
- Recovery. After the surgery we ensure that you are fully awake before sending you home.
- Discharge. You are sent home on the same day about 30 minutes after the surgery with strict discharge instructions.
- Suture removal after 1 week.
- Back to work in 2-3 weeks.
- 6-8 weeks for swelling to completely settle.
